I’m a food and agriculture advocate, which I sometimes refer to as being an AgVocate. Now what does that mean?
It means I advocate for food, farmers and agriculture in general. Online the activists often attack for using the term “AgVocate” I’m still unsure why it bothers them. An AgVocate is a portmanteau combining advocate with agriculture (Not my idea). I’m both an advocate and an agVocate…
I agvocate for all forms of agriculture; yet many will tell you I’m anti organic which is simply not true. I’m pro-agriculture. I feel farmers have the sole right to choose their tools, production methods, labels, certifications and seed sources. I do not like divisive laws or actions that segregate our communities or vilify one farmer over another. Actions such as we have seen over the past few years in Hawaii are harmful to Hawaii, our communities and farmers.
There are times I feel as if I’m forced to be anti organic, mostly I am anti BS…Stick to the truth, facts over fallacies.
